London – Visit London, the official tourism organisation for the capital, has hired Edelman for its ongoing global consumer PR activity focusing on the US, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The account will be hubbed out of London and was procured through the COI.
The main objective of the ongoing campaign is to promote London as a leading visitor destination highlighting the uniqueness and diversity of the city. Visit London has always worked with agencies in these key markets, however, this is the first time that one agency will have responsibility across all the territories.
Ken Kelling, Visit London Communications Director said, “London is the most visited city in the world and it is crucial that we maintain a constant presence in our most important markets. Working with Edelman we have the opportunity to have a cohesive and integrated campaign to drive visitors to the capital.”
The programme of activities will involve a mixture of on-territory activity, media relations and press trips to showcase the city.
Pamela Fieldhouse, Managing Director, Edelman, said:
“This is a great honour for Edelman. We’re looking forward to working with Visit London to deliver a campaign that will promote the city’s vibrancy, diversity and unique character at a time when it offers tourists great value, whatever their budget.”
Edelman’s European and US offices will work closely with Visit London’s in-house PR team to promote the latest news from London including events, exhibitions and new openings.
With the exchange rate currently favouring overseas visitors, value messages to encourage visits to the city will also feature strongly.
Visit London will continue to seek to work with other PR agencies on a project basis.
