London – Peter Zarko-Flynn joins Edelman, bringing more than 14 years’ experience in journalism and healthcare communications to his role as Associate Director in Edelman Health’s growing practice.
In his previous role at Axon Communications, Peter was the strategic lead for the global launch of Janssen-Cilag’s treatment for premature ejaculation, Priligy. He was responsible for KOL engagement, issues preparedness and developed a speaker training programme to coach more than 120 internal spokespeople and KOLs. Peter will be responsible for leading Edelman’s Oncology work for AstraZeneca and he will also be working with Janssen. In addition, he joins the senior health team and will take on key responsibilities to assist in running the practice.
Peter has worked extensively in oncology and spent seven years as Head of Media at Cancer Research UK. He was responsible for promoting the charity’s £315m annual research portfolio and developing strategic health awareness campaigns. He oversaw the charity’s award-winning public health campaign to ban smoking in public places and SunSmart, the UK’s national skin cancer prevention campaign, funded by the Department of Health.
Peter began his career as a news and current affairs producer with the BBC. During his five years with the broadcaster, he was responsible for daily news and current affairs programming.
