LONDON 6th June 2012 – JCPR Edelman has been handed a prestigious brief to handle consumer PR for iconic British chocolate brand, Green & Black’s. The appointment comes after JCPR Edelman successfully secured one of five places on Kraft Foods’ PR agency roster.
JCPR Edelman’s brief comes during a milestone 21st anniversary year for the brand which is set to see a host of exciting developments unfold, the first of which was their support of Cake in the Clouds to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant which took place at Battersea Park on 3rd June. The event saw Britain’s top architects and engineers compete to build the biggest cake they possibly could. Green & Black’s supplied the chocolate to aid their escapades.
Erin Kennedy Marketing Manager at Green & Black’s stated: “We were seeking a different approach from PR and JCPR totally understood our brief and the huge opportunity to connect consumers with the story behind the Green & Black’s brand. This is a truly exciting time to be working with the Green & Black’s brand and it’s great to have the new team onboard. ”
Ruth Warder, Managing Director of JCPR, commented: “Green & Black’s is such a well loved brand which is synonymous with great tasting chocolate, innovation and ethical sourcing. We are thrilled to add such an iconic brand to our consumer business portfolio.”
Throughout the coming year JCPR Edelman will focus on engaging media in the brands ethics, taste, passion and quality as well as handling a dynamic press office. JCPR Edelman joins a new integrated agency team for Green & Black’s, which includes advertising agency, Mother.
Green & Black’s was founded by Craig Sams and Jo Fairley who launched its first organic, Fairtrade chocolate bar from a bedroom in Portobello Road in the early nineties. The initial launch was shortly followed by the introduction of the popular Mayan Gold bar.
