Who Are We?

We are a leading global communications marketing firm helping business and organisations evolve, promote and protect their brands and reputations.

We are independent which allows us the freedom to be constantly curious and deliver original thinking.

In the UK, we are a team of brand, reputation, research and digital strategists who drive award-winning creative communication programmes.

We have deep expertise and advise on consumer trends, research, analytics and insights, corporate reputation, health, technology, crisis, energy, and government affairs.

ED WILLIAMS

CEO

Ed leads the UK and Ireland business at Edelman. Before taking up the role of President and CEO in 2011, Ed led communications for two global media companies, the BBC and Reuters. He advises senior executives on corporate communications and strategy, and issues and crisis management. As a former TV and print journalist, he still likes to turn his hand to speech and op-ed writing. In his evenings, Ed is Deputy Chairman of the English National Ballet. A graduate of Harvard Business School’s AMP, he is also one of the Evening Standard’s 1,000 most influential Londoners.

STEVE SPURR

COO

Steve joined Edelman in 1998 and has 18 years of brand and corporate communications experience. He oversees the day-to-day running of Edelman UK and Ireland and is responsible for the agency’s sector and digital teams. During his tenure at Edelman, Steve has worked extensively in the health, diagnostics and pharmaceutical industries consulting on market access, communications and health policy. A science geek and a social anthropologist, Steve attempts to bring organisation to the chaos.

Claire Dobson

CFO

Claire leads all financial management, planning and reporting for the agency. She brings 20 years of experience to her role, with previous positions at GCI London, Berkeley Business Group PLC and Securiguard Group. Outside of the office Claire can be found watching sport or ballet, with her head in a book or acting as taxi driver for her children, although never at the same time.

Alex Bigg

GENERAL MANAGER

Alex is General Manager of the UK and Ireland business and is responsible for the agency’s corporate and public affairs practices, as well as overseeing the Dublin Office. He has 18 years of consultancy experience across corporate communications and public affairs. He advises senior executives on corporate positioning, profile raising, and issues and crisis management. In his spare time he is attempting to get fit (and thereby defy the ageing process).

Ruth Warder

GENERAL MANAGER

Ruth leads Edelman’s brand, creative and planning offerings and has 15 years of experience in Brand Marketing. Ruth has helped create, build and reposition brands from FMCG through to technology and luxury. Her signature campaigns are insight-driven, culturally-attuned and always aim to create talkability and commercial value. Ruth has a passion for shoes and has never been seen in footwear without a heel.
