Trust compared with six months ago
- 69% trust government less than six months ago vs 2% trust more (26% trust the same)
- 73% trust MPs in general less than six months ago vs 1% trust more (22% trust the same)
- 65% trust Gordon Brown less than six months ago vs 4% trust more (28% trust the same)
- Trust in David Cameron and Nick Clegg is stable – over 50% unchanged or higher in the past six months:
- 43% trust David Cameron the same as six months ago, 16% trust him more (37% trust less)
- 46% trust Nick Clegg the same as six months ago, 7% trust him more (34% trust less)
- 37% trust their local MP less than six months ago vs 7% trust more (49% trust the same)
Business ethics
- 76% don't trust financial institutions who have taken bail-out money to use taxpayers' money responsibly
- 79% don't trust business leaders to put the interests of their employees and shareholders ahead of their own personal interests
