London 19 June 2009 – Edelman has strengthened its senior team with two Director appointments: Yvette Venable and Jenny Heffron.

Yvette Venable previously worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) EMEA where she was a senior communication strategist and European advocacy lead for their oncology and diabetes portfolios. Her communication programmes focused on helping influence the environment for market access and launch new products. Before moving to Paris to join BMS, Yvette held senior agency positions in the United States at Fleishman-Hillard and Ogilvy.

Jenny Heffron has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 17 years. Prior to joining Edelman, she worked in-house at Eli Lilly UK, Novartis UK and GSK, and in agency at Synergy (formerly Workhouse). During her career, Jenny has been responsible for directing UK, international and corporate communications programmes.

Steve Spurr, Managing Director, said: “We are very excited that Yvette and Jenny have joined the team. Between them, they bring a wealth of international and UK experience that will deepen Edelman’s client counsel and programming. With these appointments, we are now a 65-strong health team with domestic and international capabilities spanning medical education, market access, pharmaceutical and consumer health PR.”
