Edelman UK today announced the appointment of Toby Gunton as General Manager, Digital. In this newly created senior role, Toby will join the Edelman UK executive operations team and will be responsible for building industry leading digital specialist skills and services for clients across the entire UK business.

Following his 20+ years of industry experience across digital, creative and media agencies he will have a particular focus on leading digital innovation that has the power to transform client campaigns and businesses. Toby will be part of Edelman’s global digital capabilities led by Kevin King, Global Chair, Edelman Digital and therefore will bring the best global thinking into the local market.

He joins Edelman from OMD UK, where as Head of Innovation he led strategic and executional innovation in paid, owned and earned media. At OMD UK, he led their Newsroom service, a real time insights and ideas team, and managed the Social, Content Marketing, Mobile and Technology Futures practices and was part of the team that ran OMD’s annual Innovation Week. Prior to OMD UK, Toby held positions as chief digital officer and managing director at WCRS.

Toby will assume his new role in Edelman’s London office on Monday 3 October 2015. His hire is one of a number that Edelman has made from the digital and creative community this year including Karmarama’s former Content Director, Ben Hooper; Alex Mecklenburg previously at OgilvyOne; and Cath Jefferies who joined from We Are Social.
