Insight

Forza is Xbox’s flagship motorsport franchise and to raise awareness for the latest title in the series, Edelman was tasked with creating content that would engage and excite gamers and take the title to a broader audience.

Idea

To celebrate the launch Forza Motosport 6, the sixth edition of Xbox’s racing video game, Edelman created an extreme driving and gaming challenge that had never been done before.

Taking place at the famous Top Gear test track in Surrey, the races were between YouTube gamers and Top Gear’s legendary driver - The Stig. Whilst gamers took on the test track on an Xbox from the back seat, The Stig drove that same car on the track for real. Same track, same car and only one winner.

Edelman identified YouTube influencers

Who took the content to gamers and motoring fans, including Tom Syndicate, Master Ov and Car Throttle. We also hosted journalists from The Sun, Outside Xbox and Top Gear. All had two laps in the car, trying to beat The Stig… and all failed spectacularly.

Edelman captured content from the event, then storyboarding and editing a hero video which went live on the Xbox UK YouTube channel during the game’s launch day.
