We help the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and healthcare brands to show patients, regulators, government, policy makers, doctors and media how their complex products deliver the thing we all value most: life.
Each year we measure levels of Trust both globally and across different industry sectors including health. The Edelman Trust Barometer is the largest global study of Trust in the world and has been running for twenty years.
Since January 2020 there have been notable increases in Trust in healthcare in 10 out of the 11 markets studied – with the largest trust increases seen in the U.S., Canada and Germany. The sub-sectors of health have also seen increases in trust – most notably for pharma – which is now the second most trusted sub-sector for the first time.
The pandemic is a pivotal moment for healthcare companies. To maintain these high levels of trust, companies must not only deliver on the public’s urgent needs – they also must demonstrate their commitment to society more broadly.
There is an unprecedented opportunity for companies working in the health sector to take purposeful steps to safeguard trust through strategic communications.
