Jeremy Lucas Joins as Managing Director and Andy Bloxham as Senior Director, Head of Corporate Strategy, Both Within the Corporate Affairs Practice

LONDON, 26 NOVEMBER 2019 – Edelman UK, the global communications firm, has appointed Jeremy Lucas as managing director, and Andy Bloxham, senior director in its growing and evolving corporate affairs practice.

Lucas, who was previously a managing partner and corporate affairs lead at Ogilvy following six years at Teneo Blue Rubicon, joins to lead Edelman’s 80-person corporate reputation team as its managing director. With years of experience advising global clients on strategic campaigning and issues management, Lucas will be responsible for diversifying and modernising Edelman’s approach to integrated reputation campaigning.

Bloxham has joined Edelman as its head of corporate strategy. He spent two years as MHP’s corporate MD after five years at Bell Pottinger, where he was a founding partner of its integrated campaigns team Engage. As business faces increasingly complex challenges and societal shifts in what is expected of them, Bloxham will lead the corporate positioning and narrative development work for some of Edelman’s major clients.

Both Lucas and Bloxham will form part of a newly established corporate affairs leadership team - which includes the likes of James Morris, Shauna McCarthy, Will Walden, Duncan Gallagher and Iain Dey - and will be central to Edelman’s plans to integrate its corporate and advisory services. These two hires come in addition to Jennifer Giff and Stephanie Glover who have very recently joined to add strength and specialist expertise to Edelman’s crisis communications capabilities.

Under the leadership of corporate affairs general manager, Hugh Taggart, Edelman has brought together its public affairs, financial and corporate reputation teams to create one integrated corporate affairs practice to meet the increasingly diverse range of challenges facing corporate affairs directors.

Hugh Taggart, general manager, Edelman UK said of the two hires, “We are thrilled to bring in two advisors and leaders of their calibre, energy and integrity. They are both highly tuned to the reputational challenges of business leaders and have outstanding experience advising major brands. Most importantly they will sharpen our thinking and delivery capabilities for clients and accelerate the development of our talented teams.”

Jeremy Lucas, Managing Director, Edelman UK, said, “I’m delighted to be joining Edelman at such a pivotal time in the evolution of its Corporate Affairs offer. Edelman has both incredible breadth and depth of expertise, helping business leaders navigate increasingly complex and fragmented reputational environments. By combining this with a truly integrated approach, we will be able to assemble the right team of advisors to deliver increasingly potent strategic communications programmes to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Andy Bloxham, head of corporate strategy, Edelman UK, said, “The brainpower, international reach and collaborative culture of Edelman make for a fantastically powerful solvent for vital business problems.

“It’s a great feeling to come to work every morning to try to crack those challenges for some of the world’s most important organisations, alongside colleagues who help you learn every day. I’m genuinely excited to be a part of the next stage of Edelman’s growth.”
