Nick Hope

In his role as Managing Director, Crisis & Risk, EMEA, Nick is responsible for leading and evolving Edelman’s Crisis & Risk Practice across nine key regional markets, providing strategic counsel to clients navigating today’s increasingly complex world of reputational risk. Nick is a specialist in narrative development, strategic positioning and crisis management.

Nick has been at Edelman for six years, most recently as Managing Director of the UK Corporate Affairs team where he worked across the full-spectrum of corporate communications. He provided c-suite counsel and led integrated communications teams for major multi-market accounts. He operated at the intersection between business, politics and culture. 

Prior to this he was Chief of Staff across the EMEA region, acting as a trusted advisor to large scale clients providing c-suite counsel and crisis management.

Nick was previously a Labour Party political advisor, spending just over a year dividing his time between working as a speechwriter for private clients in business and entertainment and advising Hilary Benn MP as Chair of the Brexit Committee.

Nick has also worked as a Political Adviser in the UK to the Shadow Foreign Secretary and Shadow Communities Secretary and worked in the UK Parliament for the Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, and the former Deputy Prime Minister.

From 2008 to 2011, Nick was a Senior Researcher at a thinktank.
